I feel so lucky and blessed for spending my Easter holidays in one of my dream cities – Barcelona. This is my third time in this gorgeous, colorful city, but for the first time with my husband dearest 🙂 ! Barcelona, in so many ways, reminds me on my hometown Split. Mediterranean sea and mentality, but on a much bigger scale. And of course – colors!! As you could notice, I loooove colors and Barcelona is a city which definitely isn’t afraid of them – and the fact that Barcelona is a home town of my favorite fashion brand, Desigual, also helps with my undying love for this city !
I will share with you some of the pictures taken during our visit. We are still in the town and will soon be of to enjoy some cava !
Kisses!
Monument a Colom (The Colombus Monument)
Catalonian flag in front of the Mercat del Born (Born or La Ribera is the district we are located in); Arc del Triomf
In front of Pop-art style sculpture Barcelona Face (El Cap de Barcelona) designed by Roy Lichtenstein, Port Vell, Barceloneta. The monument was made for the Barcelona Olympic Games as a tribute to the city and Gaudi.
Sea Horse at L’aquarium Barcelona – I love how in Spain he is called “Caballito del Mar”, so sweet!!
Well… I have find myself some interesting hats!
Colorful shop windows – heaven!
Amazing punk and rock club we got recommended by the locals – Bollocks!!
Fountain in the Parc de la Ciutadella
Barcelona Cathedral de Santa Eulalia
Perfection that is known by the name Sagrada Familia, by genius Antoni Gaudi
The ceilling of the church
I was so touched when I entered the Sagrada…she is so out of this world – there is no such camera or picture which can truly show her beauty.
Well what do we have here? In front of the Furla store in Passeig de Gracia!
Casa Batllo – another masterpiece designed by Gaudi
In front of the most delicious museum – Museu Xocolata – our tickets were these chocolates 🙂 – but they didn’t had chocolates with Croatian flags so we ended up with Russian ones – we ate them anyway, of course 😉 !
White chocolate replica of the Dragon (Salamander) in Gaudi’s Park Guell
I always end up finding local vintage fairs – and loving it!
Street details
I‘m in love with these two little fashionistas and this gorgeous mother-daughter duo!
In front of Magic Fountain of Montjuic – loving it like a small kid!
We went on a Easter Sunday holy mass at the beautiful Basilica Santa Maria del Mar, couple of minutes from our place
Barcelona also has her “Bridge of Sighs”, just like Venice, located in the Gothic Quarter
“Cloud and Chair” wire sculpture at the roof of Antoni Tapies Foundation; Faculty of Medicine for all my fellow colleagues 🙂
On the left – “House of Umbrellas” at La Rambla
Well – you did see this coming 🙂 !! In front of the biggest Desigual store in Barcelona, in Las Arenas shopping mall at Placa d’Espanya
…and what is the best way to end today’s post than with some great tapas and delicious chocolate and orange cake from Bubo pastry shop!
See you soon with the new post 😉
Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe – Barcelona
I went to Barcelona when I was about 16/17 with my mum and while I don’t remember that much apart from La Rambla, I remember the atmosphere, friendly and warm
Well If you would have an opportunity I recommend another visit – I was there for the first time when I was 17, but while you’re getting little older it is much different (and better) experience!
