Viva Barcelona! – part two

I have to say, as expected, I returned home to my every day obligations and the feel of nostalgia kicked in! I already miss you Barcelona….

But in the words of the one and only Freddie Mercury:

“…Barcelona – It was the first time that we met!

Barcelona – How can I forget?

The moment that you stepped into the room you took my breath away!

And if God is willing we will meet again someday…

Friends until the end…”

Patron saint of Barcelona, Sant Jordi is celebrated on April 23rd – historically, men gave women roses, and women gave men a book to celebrate the occasion — “a rose for love and a book for forever.”

Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya features a particularly outstanding example of European Romanesque art: the remarkable, original and extraordinarily expressive paintings from the Apse of Sant Climent de Taüll, including the famous Pantocrator or Christ in Majesty, an undisputed masterpiece from the 12th century that forms tangible evidence of the creative power of Catalan painting.
