Today’s post will be a rather patriotic one….no, don’t worry, I won’t sing our national anthem or something like that 🙂 ! This photo shoot was taken on a beautiful sunny day in my hometown Split. Me and my friend Stela who took pictures (with my low quality camera, because my husband took the better camera for his backpacking trip, grrrr) were over the top that day. Gorgeous weather, sunshine, sea, amazing views….they just made us think how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful town and such a beautiful country.
Most of my outfit which I wore that day was made in Croatia, so today I will present you some of my favorite Croatian brands and designers. There are so many great designers here, some better known and some lesser known, but all amazingly talented, so you can expect them more in some of my future posts, but these ones would be my Top 5 !
If you have any of your own suggestions be sure to write them in the comments!
Enjoy 🙂 !

Bebuša by Lana Stojićević brooche – Pipi Duga Čarapa (Pippi Longstocking)
The brand Startas was born in 1976, by company Borovo which is located in Croatian city Vukovar. They were first designed for table tennis players, but they quickly became iconic in the sports world and a fashion must-have in the former republic. The Startas factory was badly hit by the bombings in the area during the war, which forced the company to shut down production between 1991 and 1997.
After nearly 20 years of falling into obscurity, Startas has reemerged from the past thanks to the new designs made by Mauro Massarotto. Today, models are inspired from a unique culture and legacy, and are still manufactured with the same technique used for nearly four decades.
Long live STARTAS!
Juraj Zigman from Rijeka, finished Italian university “Istituto Europeo di Design – IED” in Milan, specializing in Fashion. Winning the fashion contest for young designers “Fashion Incubator” ensured him the entrance to the “Cro à Porter”, the most prestigious fashion event in Croatia.
Zigman is known as Croatian’s fashion “enfant terrible” – he is not afraid of colors and unique prints in his design. His style is instantly recognizable, imaginative and bold – you won’t go unnoticed in one of his designs!
Brand Robert Sever was formed in 2001 by it’s main designer, Robert Sever. From the very beginning brand stood out in Croatian fashion with it’s unique and quality approach to woman fashion.
Clothing, handbags and accessories are mix of modern design with elements of paintings, prints, cultural and heritage, with authors recognisable fashion sense.
Till this date Robert Sever showed 30 collections and I’m really looking forward to new ones!
Bite My Style by Zoran Aragović
Zoran Aragović and his brand Bite My Style are really true to it’s name – you have to be confident and be ready to stand out while wearing his design – for me it was love at first sight 🙂 . His fashion is a perfect mix of different styles, colors, patterns and applications, always cheerful and modern.
All clothes and handbags are perfectly crafted and every woman wearing them has to feel like a queen of the ball!
Herman Design is a small, unique company headed by Croatian designer Kornelija Herman. She uses genuine leather and high-quality Eco leather. I instantly fell in love in her custom designed handbags and watches with different prints inspired by music, art and film combined.
These products are such a perfect mix of high quality, classic, but also modern and unique look, dream come true for handbag lover like me 🙂 !
Thanks Miss Stela for the pictures 🙂 !
And one cheerful song from Split!
