Every year during the November and December I get caught up by Lord of the Rings virus :)! These rainy days are perfect for never ending LOTR marathons. That wonderful fantasy world often inspires me for some of my outfits…When I first saw this beautiful embroidered green coat (second hand, thank you E-bay), it instantly reminded me on nature, elves, Rivendell and whole wonderful Tolkien world…

Work it girl!
The very first clothing item I made on my sewing class was a black pencil skirt, with of course my own unusual touch – a green zipper and a green underskirt! I rarely wear pencil skirts in everyday outings – I usually wear them to work or work related events, combined with different kinds of shirts and jackets.
There are a lot of unusual fashion items in my wardrobe, but without that classic item my collection would be incomplete. When I don’t have a clue what to wear (and that often happens), I know I can’t go wrong with a black pencil skirt. It gives something elegant and sexy to a woman’s figure – it’s one of the best clothing investments you can make!
Let’s do THE moustache darlings!
Well for today, a little bit atypical post. I am a huge fan of British rock band Queen, and today is 22nd anniversary of Freddie Mercury’s death. I wont even start to bother all of you how much I adore Freddie – the world lost his flamboyance, drama and extreme voice talent when he left us…
One thing Freddie was also famous for is his trademark moustache. Every November men all around the world are encouraged to wear moustache as a way of fight against prostate cancer.
So today I wanna present you my all time favorite moustache crew!

Put on your red shoes
Marylin Monroe once said: „Give a girl the right shoe, and she can conquer the world!“ What about high heels? In my high school days heels were shoes for older, sophisticated women and my high school prom was the first time I wore them. Since then we’ve had a love-hate relationship. I considered them painful and always preferred my Dr Martens or All-Stars. But everything changed 5 years ago…I took tango lessons with my boyfriend and showed up in my ballerina flats. My tango teacher immediately said: „This won’t work, you must wear high heels. My then boyfriend, now husband, is taller than me, and in tango you have to lean toward your partner which is impossible in flats. So I bought high heels and learnt to walk in them..and well…the rest is history! I will always prefer flat shoes, but there is something so elegant and sophisticated in high heels. They can lift up every outfit and give it something special. Some of my favourites are these basic red high heels…in them I always feel like Dorothy going to Oz…there is some magic in them..“Close your eyes and tap your heels three times…“

For the love of tartan
I was born in late September, and maybe because of that I have such love for Autumn. There is something special in the beautiful range of colors in this time of year – red, brown, yellow…Fallen leaves under my feet…a constant fight between sudden rain showers and comforting rays of sun…
And during that time I pull out my favorite Autumn items – tartan patterned skirt and jacket, with my faithful brown hat. Tartan is a fabric which constantly returns under fashion radars and will never go out of style…it is always being reinvented an it is here to stay. Tartan has some rebellion in it – it is a symbol of Scottish rebellion against England and also one of the main fashion statements in punk culture.
Rocky Horror
Today – an homage to one of my favourite movies – The Rocky Horror Picture Show. If some crazy scientist would approach me with an idea of time travelling, I would tell him without any hesitation: „Take me to the 70s, pretty please!!“ All that over-the-top glam, outfits, men and women in satin, jewelry and make up – I absolutely love it! Rocky Horror is a true example of mid-70s glam. But behind all the make-up, platforms, and cross-dressing outfits, are extraordinary music performances, which are still amazing as they were almost 40 years ago!

FULL COLOR!
On these rainy days in Split probably the best thing to do is stay at home, drink a cup of coffee and read a good book…but what if you need to go out, to your workplace or somewhere else? In that I case I like to go full color! My candy printed rain boots, colorful umbrella and bright yellow handbag are the perfect companions for these grey days – “Give me some colors !!” is my life moto !
This yellow handbag brings me to the subject of my today’s post – handbags, purses and our love for them! Made by talented, Split-based Arka Design, I usually carry it during the autumn and winter days..its bright colors instantly cheer me up, it is unique…and of course – it has enough space for all the necessities a girl could need!
Made in England
So the best way to start a fashion blog is with some classics – little black dress and black leather jacket are definitely a must items of every wardrobe….but besides them some of the items I consider classics are Dr Martens boots and unique handbags….
I’m a bit of the handbag addict..and proud of it….:)) One of my favorite bags is this one, Twiggy themed bag by the very talented Poppy Bags from Mostar…
I love 60s fashion, and both Dr Martens boots and Twiggy started to take over and redefine the fashion in the same year, 1966. Until this day they are widely recognized as promoters of English fashion.
