Crazy Little Thing Called LOVE ! – second wedding anniversary

I love September – It is my favorite month…not because I celebrate my birthday at the end of the month….I love it because I married the love of my love on that wonderful day, September 8th 2012.Β  πŸ™‚ !

My husband Marko and I wanted our wedding day to be relaxed and full of laughter, dance, good food and good music and to be shared with our closest family and friends. After seven years of relationship, and basically growing up together, we knew that in our wedding day we must stay true to ourselves. We wanted the outdoor venue, and we were blessed with a beautiful weather that day. The whole wedding had a vintage vibe – when you see our outfits you will get the picture! My favorite color is green and the whole wedding theme was green and white. We both love to dance and our first dance as a married couple was our little rendition of “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by the group Queen – my all time favorite band.

Enough for introduction..hope you’ll enjoy selection of some of my favorite pics of that wonderful day…and read something about the history of modern day wedding dresses!

Plastic Fantastic

Last Spring you couldn’t turn around without seeing someone with plastic handbag or some kind of plastic accessories. Plastic materials were see-through or in all color variations popular for Spring, like greens and yellows…I wasn’t particular fan of that trend, but after some time I caught a plastic virus πŸ™‚ . I love to wear plastic jewelry, especially all kinds of plastic rings and bracelets – they remind me so much on my childhood. You can wear most serious outfit, but add some plastic to it and you will find your inner child in a matter of seconds!

Pop Art stole my heart

Today is a rather special day! Besides the fact that today is the first day of Spring, there is one other small fact –Β  this is my 30th post, hooray πŸ™‚ ! One of the main goals when I started to do this blog (besides showing you my obsession with Desigual πŸ˜‰ ), was to show some of the amazing Croatian designers. Croatia is a a rather small country, but artistic talent here is huge, in my humble opinion πŸ™‚ !

I love this skirt by very talented Croatian designer Zoran Aragovic from Bite My Style fashion design, and she inspired me for today’s topic – Pop Art, and it’s neverending influence in fashion and design. I love my clothes to be colorful and bold, and this outfit doesn’t fail me in that department – hope you’ll enjoy it!

A Night At The Theatre

Every year Β the Symphonic orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Split has its traditional New Year concerts three days in a row – those are always the last three theatre programs of the year.

This year I was fortunate enough to be a part of the theatre audience on the second of those three wonderful evenings, with my faithful friends and blog helpers πŸ™‚ Nina and Stela.

We enjoyed the wonderful music selection: Johan Strauss the son,Β  Jacques Offenbach, Franz von Suppe, and many more famous compositors. Visit to the theatre was also an opportunity to dress at our very best – evening dresses, silk gloves, high heels, chiffon, beads, pearls….theatre binoculars – you name it, we had it πŸ™‚ ! Those kind of evenings are a wonderful opportunity to experience something rather different from our everyday outings. They remind us of the old times when the meaning of having a good time was a visit to the theatre, and not to some smoke and booze filled club…

But the most prestigious New Year concert is definitely the one performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra that takes place each year in the morning of New Year’s Day in Vienna, Austria. Ballet dancers, who perform through several compositions during the concert, are dressed by prestigious fashion designers. Hopefully, we will also have an opportunity to be a part of that wonderful concert one day.

For the love of tartan

I was born in late September, and maybe because of that I have such love for Autumn. There is something special in the beautiful range of colors in this time of year – red, brown, yellow…Fallen leaves under my feet…a constant fight between sudden rain showers and comforting rays of sun…

And during that time I pull out my favorite Autumn items – tartan patterned skirt and jacket, with my faithful brown hat. Tartan is a fabric which constantly returns under fashion radars and will never go out of style…it is always being reinvented an it is here to stay. Tartan has some rebellion in it – it is a symbol of Scottish rebellion against England and also one of the main fashion statements in punk culture.
