Shoe Gal

Couple of weeks ago I decided to make a collage of all the handbags, shoes and jewelry I wore in my posts till this date. I already published handbags post (What About that Bag?), and enjoyed so much in making today’s post – it is really great to see all these shoes in one place!

I choose the title of the post after an e-mail address of true shoe maniac, one and only Miss Carrie Bradshaw from TV-series Sex and The City.

So my questions are – How many shoes do you have, which shoe style do you prefer and what are your favorites in my collection?

Walking the A-line

One of the main lady trends in the last couple of seasons is a true 50s classic – A line skirt. Usually reserved for those who love rockabilly subculture, A – line once again conquered fashion runways, and after that the streets.

A – line skirts are very feminine clothing item but I was a bit skeptical about wearing them – I have classical pear body shape and I didn’t want to draw to much of an attention on my hip area. But when I saw this wonderful printed skirt online I just couldn’t resist – she instantly reminded me on an old 50s movies and actresses I just love to watch!

All pictures were taken on Riva in my hometown Split, on a bit cold but wonderful sunny day πŸ™‚ !

Oxford Babe

Last autumn I decided to find the perfect pair of shoes which I could wear in that awkward season period between wearing ballet flats and winter boots. As always, I decided to find them on the site I know the best – never ending wonder of E-bay !

After a long search I fell in love with these wonderful Oxford shoes by Iron Fist. They are very comfortable, easy to combine with all sorts of outfits – and I have to admit – when I wear them I just have an urge to dance in the rain – Fred Astaire style πŸ™‚ !

Queen of the Jungle

Summer months are just perfect for the one trend which cannot go unnoticed – jungle print. I haven’t worn Desigual for a while πŸ˜‰ , so it’s time to return to my favorite fashion brand!

I found this beautiful dress at E-bay couple of years ago, again second hand, and it was of course, love at first sight. She just screams summer, jungle and wilderness.

For blog posts I first decide on outfit, and after it, with my biggest helper, photographer Stela, I decide on location.

We wanted to do the jungle themed post, but we couldn’t afford trip to Amazonian rain forest πŸ™‚ , so we hope that this jungle voyage with a little bit of help of Photoshop will do the trick πŸ™‚ !

Enjoy!

Pop Art stole my heart

Today is a rather special day! Besides the fact that today is the first day of Spring, there is one other small fact –Β  this is my 30th post, hooray πŸ™‚ ! One of the main goals when I started to do this blog (besides showing you my obsession with Desigual πŸ˜‰ ), was to show some of the amazing Croatian designers. Croatia is a a rather small country, but artistic talent here is huge, in my humble opinion πŸ™‚ !

I love this skirt by very talented Croatian designer Zoran Aragovic from Bite My Style fashion design, and she inspired me for today’s topic – Pop Art, and it’s neverending influence in fashion and design. I love my clothes to be colorful and bold, and this outfit doesn’t fail me in that department – hope you’ll enjoy it!

Rocky Horror

Today – an homage to one of my favourite movies – The Rocky Horror Picture Show. If some crazy scientist would approach me with an idea of time travelling, I would tell him without any hesitation: β€žTake me to the 70s, pretty please!!β€œ All that over-the-top glam, outfits, men and women in satin, jewelry and make up – I absolutely love it! Rocky Horror is a true example of mid-70s glam. But behind all the make-up, platforms, and cross-dressing outfits, are extraordinary music performances, which are still amazing as they were almost 40 years ago!
