Back in Yellow !

Finally, after a long break, arrives my first post pregnancy post ๐Ÿ™‚ ! First of all, I have to thank my friends Stela and Ivna for keeping this little blog alive with their amazing posts while I was trying to figure out my new mommy role.

My little baby girl Ena is now three and a half months old, and she has become our new partner whenever Stela and I manage some time to do photo shoots.

I thought it is appropriate to start this new fashion blogger / Ena’s mommy adventure in my colorful style – and which color is the best one two announce new life, new energy, new start? Of course, it’s splash of yellow!

Yellow is the color that captures our attention more than any other color. In almost every culture yellow represents sunshine, happiness, and warmth. It is the most visible color of the spectrum and the human eye processes yellow first. This explains why it is used for cautionary signs and emergency rescue vehicles.

It’s a primary color and so it’s the base of endless shades of colors. Yellow remains full, pure, and immune to all chromatic contamination.

It’s not an easy color to wear, and it looks better in contrast with black – add just a little bit of yellow to your everyday outfit, and trust me, you WILL be noticed ๐Ÿ™‚

Enough with the small talk, let’s show you some pictures!

Everyone I meet, even random people on the street ask me about Ena’s pushchair. It’s by the fantastic British brand Cosatto, and it was love at first sight!

Baby Pink

One of my favorite fashion blogs is the one written by Miss Rebecca – “Winnipeg Style”. She has such a quirky and colorful style which I adore. Thanks to her post “Perfect Fall Coat” I discovered this wonderful Fall/Winter coat by brand Choies and totally fell in love with it. Rebecca bought hers in blue, but I wanted to do something totally opposite of my usual color choices and go with one color which is rarely seen in my wardrobe – pink.

I hated to wear anything pink as a child, but after long 30 years I finally decided to give that color a chance! What do you think about my baby pink coat and what are your feelings towards this girlie color?

Kisses and have a great weekend!

Sailor Girl !

Sorry for a little bit belated post but I’m having love and hate relationship with my laptop these days! The temperature is dangerously rising in Croatia, and for a very short period of time I managed to wear my, how I like to call it : “OMG, where I parked my yacht ?!” look ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the pure simplicity of this look – with only three colors : white, red and navy blue, you can make numerous combinations of navy looks. These looks automatically give you a feeling of summer, nostalgia and old school elegance.

Enjoy!

Pretty Pleat

I still have a slight case of Barcelona blues :), but the last couple of days my hometown Split was finally in it’s sunshine mood. It is the perfect time for my collection of pleated skirts to see the light of the day. I have them in five different colors (white, yellow, green, black and turqoise), all bought on E-bay for 10 dollars each. They are perfect for spring/summer transition and can be paired with just about anything. I wear them with T-shirts, tank tops, jackets, sneakers or sandals. If you want some instant feminine touch, but also to feel modern and comfortable pleat is the perfect choice!

Pop Art stole my heart

Today is a rather special day! Besides the fact that today is the first day of Spring, there is one other small fact –ย  this is my 30th post, hooray ๐Ÿ™‚ ! One of the main goals when I started to do this blog (besides showing you my obsession with Desigual ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), was to show some of the amazing Croatian designers. Croatia is a a rather small country, but artistic talent here is huge, in my humble opinion ๐Ÿ™‚ !

I love this skirt by very talented Croatian designer Zoran Aragovic from Bite My Style fashion design, and she inspired me for today’s topic – Pop Art, and it’s neverending influence in fashion and design. I love my clothes to be colorful and bold, and this outfit doesn’t fail me in that department – hope you’ll enjoy it!

The Gloved One

Honore de Balzac once said: โ€žWoman is the most charming creature, who changes her heart as easily as she does her gloves.”

There is something rather special in gloves. We often carry handbags, and wear shoes, belts and even hats, but gloves…not so much. Gloves had a huge role in fashion and in development of man kind, but they have always been a bit special. Firstly worn for protection in cold winter days, later they developed into a status symbol. I would give anything to live in the days when it was perfectly normal to wear gloves to the theatre, parties, dinners…even just walking around town. So these days cold weather is the perfect excuse to let my glove collection do all the talking! These black and red leather gloves are the first pair of gloves I have ever bought…they protect my hands of course, but with them I feel elegant, special and a bit devilish all at the same time :).

Work it girl!

The very first clothing item I made on my sewing class was a black pencil skirt, with of course my own unusual touch – a green zipper and a green underskirt! I rarely wear pencil skirts in everyday outings โ€“ I usually wear them to work or work related events, combined with different kinds of shirts and jackets.

There are a lot of unusual fashion items in my wardrobe, but without that classic item my collection would be incomplete. When I don’t have a clue what to wear (and that often happens), I know I can’t go wrong with a black pencil skirt. It gives something elegant and sexy to a woman’s figure โ€“ it’s one of the best clothing investments you can make!
