Joy of Sakura

I just love Spring…nature awakens, trees are in bloom. One of the most beautiful sights for me is a cherry tree in it’s full bloom. It is not easy to find cherry tree in Split, but this beautiful almond tree helped us in our photo shoot :). I enjoyed so much finally being able to wear this beautiful cherry blossom or sakura printed skirt combined with cherry inspired jewelry and purse!

Cherry blossom trees, also known as sakura, typically bloom in late March and early April. Many in Japan celebrate by holding flower viewing parties and picnicking under the trees. This custom, also knows as Hanami in Japan, dates back to as early as 710 CE when festivals were held specifically for the coming of the sakura.

In historic Japan, the cherry blossom represented morality, since the blossom itself has a short life span. Now it has come to symbolize innocence, simplicity, and the beginning of spring. In some cultures it represents feminine beauty, love, passion, and hope for greater things to come.

Oxford Babe

Last autumn I decided to find the perfect pair of shoes which I could wear in that awkward season period between wearing ballet flats and winter boots. As always, I decided to find them on the site I know the best – never ending wonder of E-bay !

After a long search I fell in love with these wonderful Oxford shoes by Iron Fist. They are very comfortable, easy to combine with all sorts of outfits – and I have to admit – when I wear them I just have an urge to dance in the rain – Fred Astaire style 🙂 !

Green is the Warmest Color

Everyone one of us has a favorite color – that one color which is a little bit above all of the other ones. Although I’m a big colors fanatic 😉 , you could probably guess by now that for me the favorite color is one and only – green. Since I was a little kid I preferred her in my wardrobe – green always had soothing and peaceful influence on me. Green is the color in which I feel most comfortable, and even at my home decorations I always prefer green details.

But on the other side green is a great color if you wanna stand out and run away from your safety zone – perfect color for eternal introvert/extrovert fight inside my head 🙂 !

Hope you will enjoy these pictures, taken in beautiful little city Stobrec, located 10 minutes from my hometown Split and check out my all time favorite selection of green dresses, both in popular culture and on the fashion runways. And do tell me something about your color favorites!

Kisses!

Splendor in the grass

Every year during the Spring/Summer season we have one recurring fashion trend – flower prints. And boy, do I love that trend! Every year has some trend variations – one season there are tribal prints, other vintage feel of the 50s. It is easy to go overboard, so don’t use different flower fabrics in the same outfit. I will occasionally wear flower prints during the winter, probably on some jumpers or coats, just to cheer things up, but the Spring season is perfect one to empty out all of the flowers from your wardrobe and say hello to warm, sunny days 🙂 !

She gives me needles and pins…

My personal style often balances on the edge of being over-accessorized. I love scarves, watches, handbags, and jewelry in general – and I’m not afraid to use it 🙂 ! I started to wear earrings when I cut off my hair ten years ago, and I occasionally wear necklaces, bracelets and rings, but brooches are my biggest love. During the winter I pin them on my coats and jackets, and during the summer they end up everywhere – on my T-shirts, dresses and bags – even shoes if it’s possible!

Every brooch I own has its own story – I don’t buy them because they are trendy. They have to inspire me, and add that extra touch of my own interests and style to the whole outfit I’m wearing.

My profession doesn’t allow me too much color or personal style during the working hours, but a nice little brooch can make a lot of difference on my plain white uniform.
