Brocade Enthusiast

Being a total “Game of Thrones” fan, but also a fashion enthusiast, I had to notice fantastic brocade outfits which are featured in this TV show. Brocade is a rich silk material which was only reserved for nobility.

My love for fashion brand Desigual started the moment I saw their fantastic brocade patchwork coats. They are a little pieces of fashion art and in them you won’t go unnoticed :)!

Hope you’ll like today’s outfit and some tidbits from fashion history!

Kisses, Dina

“I am Catwoman. Hear me roar.”

The night crept over the Gotham City calmly like a silken scarf. From the distance, rhythmical clacking of the city subway echoes, blended between the sounds of police sirens, chaos of the traffic jams and barks of strayed dogs. Fumes of the factories, the smog, the waste and the thick led sky. This, is my city; this is my jungle. For all of you who might not know, the name is Selina… Selina Kyle. Who am I actually? Perhaps you caught a glimpse of me in your wildest fantasies… and your most hidden fears. Because this is my jungle. And in that jungle, I am the meanest cat of them all. I am โ€“ the Catwoman; hear me roar!

Green is the Warmest Color

Everyone one of us has a favorite color – that one color which is a little bit above all of the other ones. Although I’m a big colors fanatic ๐Ÿ˜‰ , you could probably guess by now that for me the favorite color is one and only – green. Since I was a little kid I preferred her in my wardrobe – green always had soothing and peaceful influence on me. Green is the color in which I feel most comfortable, and even at my home decorations I always prefer green details.

But on the other side green is a great color if you wanna stand out and run away from your safety zone – perfect color for eternal introvert/extrovert fight inside my head ๐Ÿ™‚ !

Hope you will enjoy these pictures, taken in beautiful little city Stobrec, located 10 minutes from my hometown Split and check out my all time favorite selection of green dresses, both in popular culture and on the fashion runways. And do tell me something about your color favorites!

Kisses!

Zip It !

My post from the last week, “Istanbul the Magnificent”, ended with the picture of all of the purchases I made in that beautiful city. One of those purchases is this beautiful, flower printed dress. I love to wear flower prints in all the seasons, but you cannot miss with them in hot summer days.

I was especially attracted to this dress because of one little detail which makes her a bit more special – zipper on her front side. It is quite normal to put hidden zippers to the back side of the dress, but this obvious, “in your face” front zipper was that final touch why I fell in love with this dress – he is not there just for function – he is there to make a fashion statement of his own!

Queen of the Jungle

Summer months are just perfect for the one trend which cannot go unnoticed – jungle print. I haven’t worn Desigual for a while ๐Ÿ˜‰ , so it’s time to return to my favorite fashion brand!

I found this beautiful dress at E-bay couple of years ago, again second hand, and it was of course, love at first sight. She just screams summer, jungle and wilderness.

For blog posts I first decide on outfit, and after it, with my biggest helper, photographer Stela, I decide on location.

We wanted to do the jungle themed post, but we couldn’t afford trip to Amazonian rain forest ๐Ÿ™‚ , so we hope that this jungle voyage with a little bit of help of Photoshop will do the trick ๐Ÿ™‚ !

Enjoy!

Heart of Glass

From early childhood I had fascination with glass, especially colored one. I used to take empty bottles, break them, and then tried to glue them in different forms, much to my mother’s despair ๐Ÿ™‚ . I loved different colors and shapes of glass, and in our local church I adored to look at the stained glass windows, especially during the morning mass when the rays of sun would shine through them – those moments were like heaven for my eyes. During my first visit to Barcelona I had stained glass overload – beautiful colorful glass mosaics were everywhere, especially in works of Antoni Gaudi. Since then I blame Gaudi ๐Ÿ™‚ for my love and obsession with everything colorful, naturalistic and eccentric –ย  beautiful necklace featured in today’s post represents all of that !

Are you ready, Freddie?

I love Freddie Mercury and Queen. No…I ADORE Freddie Mercury and Queen. I love so many bands and so many performers, but for me Freddie and Queen always were and always will be my number one. Love them or hate them, you cannot ignore pure talent and charisma from all of the band members. And what about Freddie? An epitome of rock star and true band front man. The Voice. Songwriting skills. Drama and flamboyance. The mustache ๐Ÿ™‚ . He had it all. I would give my right arm in a blink of an eye for the opportunity, an honor to see them live…but without Freddie..I don’t see the point.

For this year carnival in my home town Split I decided to go as…well, you can guess…one and only, Freddie Mercury, darlings. I choose one specific outfit of Freddie which I particularly like – yellow jacket and white pants which he wore on his very last tour with Queen in 1986. Queen were on the verge of break up, but their unforgettable performance on Live Aid gave them new love for Queen and each other. Soon after, they recorded the new album, went on their biggest tour ever…and Freddie managed to make an opera album – all in two years span!

My friend Stela joined me as Freddie’s dear friend, Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballe, and with my sister I tried to re-enact the famous picture of Freddie sitting on the back of no other than Darth Vader ๐Ÿ™‚ .

We had so much fun, hope you’ll enjoy!
