Urban Bohemian

I considered naming this post “Back on the Crime Scene” because all the pictures were taken in front of my good old Medical Faculty in Split!

My whole look was gradually built around this brown fedora hat by Bershka. He was featured in one of my first blog posts, “For the Love of Tartan”, and inexcusably neglected ever since. These last days in Split are really freezing (for Mediterranean standards of course 😉 ), so I often ended up wearing him combined with my extremely warm brow Desigual coat.

He perfectly protects my ears from freezing and falling of, but also provides great fashion statement!

Do you own fedora or some kind of wide – brimmed hat, do tell !

Have a great weekend, kisses from Miss Dee 🙂

Crazy Little Thing Called LOVE ! – second wedding anniversary

I love September – It is my favorite month…not because I celebrate my birthday at the end of the month….I love it because I married the love of my love on that wonderful day, September 8th 2012.  🙂 !

My husband Marko and I wanted our wedding day to be relaxed and full of laughter, dance, good food and good music and to be shared with our closest family and friends. After seven years of relationship, and basically growing up together, we knew that in our wedding day we must stay true to ourselves. We wanted the outdoor venue, and we were blessed with a beautiful weather that day. The whole wedding had a vintage vibe – when you see our outfits you will get the picture! My favorite color is green and the whole wedding theme was green and white. We both love to dance and our first dance as a married couple was our little rendition of “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by the group Queen – my all time favorite band.

Enough for introduction..hope you’ll enjoy selection of some of my favorite pics of that wonderful day…and read something about the history of modern day wedding dresses!

Gladiator Khaleesi

Idea for today’s post started with one of my favorite pair of shoes – black leather gladiator sandals. I bought them five years ago on a big sale. I remember watching them for weeks and saving up my money to buy them. They truly are powerful fashion statement. I don’t feel the need to wear anything colorful or extravagant when I have them on my feet – simple black dress is my favorite choice.

I am a big fan of books “Song of Ice and Fire” and series filmed by them –  “The Game of Thrones”. My favorite character is by far Daenerys Targaryen, also known as Khaleesi or Mother of Dragons. I’m very proud that big part of the scenes for the last couple of seasons of this TV series is filmed in Croatia and in my hometown Split. With my friend and photographer Stela I came up with the idea of this post being a tribute to the wonderful George R.R. Martin books, Roman heritage of our hometown and a fashion trend that cannot go unnoticed.

All the pictures were taken in amphitheater of the ancient city Salona, 5 km from Split – this is a beautiful place with huge history…I felt humbled knowing that 2000 years ago gladiators were fighting for their lives at this very place!
