Spring Bomb

Finally, a new blog post! After two weeks without my faithful laptop we are reunited and ready for some new fashion adventures πŸ™‚ !

Inspiration for today’s post is a fashion item which is quite popular last couple of Spring/Summer seasons – the bomber jacket. Bomber jacket is a perfect item for the days between sudden Spring colds and Summer heats. Designers recognized her potential and shops like Zara, H&M and Asos are full of bomber jackets in all possible prints.

Last month, while in Barcelona, in Desigual outlet store I purchased my new prized possession, beautiful embroidered bomber jacket which I can combine with just about anything.

Enjoy!

Viva Barcelona! – part one

I feel so lucky and blessed for spending my Easter holidays in one of my dream cities – Barcelona. This is my third time in this gorgeous, colorful city, but for the first time with my husband dearest πŸ™‚ ! Barcelona, in so many ways, reminds me on my hometown Split. Mediterranean sea and mentality, but on a much bigger scale. And of course – colors!!Β  As you could notice, I loooove colors and Barcelona is a city which definitely isn’t afraid of them – and the fact that Barcelona is a home town of my favorite fashion brand, Desigual, also helps with my undying love for this city !

I will share with you some of the pictures taken during our visit. We are still in the town and will soon be of to enjoy some cava !

Kisses!

Plastic Fantastic

Last Spring you couldn’t turn around without seeing someone with plastic handbag or some kind of plastic accessories. Plastic materials were see-through or in all color variations popular for Spring, like greens and yellows…I wasn’t particular fan of that trend, but after some time I caught a plastic virus πŸ™‚ . I love to wear plastic jewelry, especially all kinds of plastic rings and bracelets – they remind me so much on my childhood. You can wear most serious outfit, but add some plastic to it and you will find your inner child in a matter of seconds!

Times are hard for dreamers, Amelie

I think everyone of us has a film to which we often return. I watched film β€žAmelieβ€œ so many times, but it never fails to cheer me up. Busy and colorful streets of Paris, eccentric characters, vibrant colors and fashion are a recipe for the perfect movie night. The movie soundtrack is one of my favorites, and by listening to it I feel immersed in the wonderful world of adventure, traveling and love.

And what is life without colors, imagination and eccentricity?

Definitely not the life I would like to live!

She gives me needles and pins…

My personal style often balances on the edge of being over-accessorized. I love scarves, watches, handbags, and jewelry in general – and I’m not afraid to use it πŸ™‚ ! I started to wear earrings when I cut off my hair ten years ago, and I occasionally wear necklaces, bracelets and rings, but brooches are my biggest love. During the winter I pin them on my coats and jackets, and during the summer they end up everywhere – on my T-shirts, dresses and bags – even shoes if it’s possible!

Every brooch I own has its own story – I don’t buy them because they are trendy. They have to inspire me, and add that extra touch of my own interests and style to the whole outfit I’m wearing.

My profession doesn’t allow me too much color or personal style during the working hours, but a nice little brooch can make a lot of difference on my plain white uniform.

“Wuthering Heights” on my mind

Approaching Valentine’s Day, this horrible, stormy and grey weather in my hometown inspired me for today’s blog post.

There are so many wonderful love stories in history of the world, but I doubt there is one so fatalistic, wild, and eventually unhappy as the love story between Catherine and Heathcliff, main characters of Emily Bronte’s masterpiece, and her only work, β€žWuthering Heightsβ€œ. I was very young when I first read this book and I found it way too intense and hard to read, but several years and more love experiences later πŸ™‚ I learned to love it.

The whole book is situated in rather depressing and wild English moors – they are actually the thing Emily Bronte knew the best because she grew up in a similar surrounding. It is fascinating how much passion she put into her book and in her characters – especially for a person who rarely left her home and never had any known relationships. One can only wonder how deep and intriguing her imagination and her own inner world were.

She left this world way too early, but she lives through her passionate heroes and new generations of loyal fans and admirers.

I caught an influenca after shooting this set of photographs – suffering for the art indeed πŸ™‚ !

Step aside, Wonder Woman is here!

Today a post with a little bit of info on one fascinating imaginary woman – Wonder Woman. For some time now I have owned a Wonder Woman themed handbag by Italian brand Redwall. It was love at first sight – great Italian design with cool print of a remarkable icon. Lately I realised that I’m carrying this bag without really knowing anything about the woman whose gorgeous printed face is smilling to the world around me. I always looked at her as a fabulous woman in sexy outfits who is kicking some ass out of the bad guys. I did a little research and you can trust me – she is way more than that…

Equestrians do it better

Today’s outfit came into my head the moment I found this green Zara coat…when I saw it,Β  it instantly had a certain vibe which involved countryside, rainy and cloudy weather…with a touch of English aristocracy – well I have certainly read a lot of books and watched numerous films with English aristocrats as main charactersΒ  to know it!

Equestrian look today isn’t reserved only for professionals – it is quite normal to see horse-riders inspired looks and accessoires in street fashion and on the runways. The look is very elegant, and perfect for cloudy and cold days. The main parts of the look are quality well-tailored coats and jackets, vests, fitted trousers, and high leather boots – I can bet that almost every girl has some variation of this look. Maybe in our everyday outings we don’t wear high hats, veils and whips, which were a common part of this look in the early 20th century, but equestrian look and its variations will definitely never go out of fashion!

A Night At The Theatre

Every year Β the Symphonic orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Split has its traditional New Year concerts three days in a row – those are always the last three theatre programs of the year.

This year I was fortunate enough to be a part of the theatre audience on the second of those three wonderful evenings, with my faithful friends and blog helpers πŸ™‚ Nina and Stela.

We enjoyed the wonderful music selection: Johan Strauss the son,Β  Jacques Offenbach, Franz von Suppe, and many more famous compositors. Visit to the theatre was also an opportunity to dress at our very best – evening dresses, silk gloves, high heels, chiffon, beads, pearls….theatre binoculars – you name it, we had it πŸ™‚ ! Those kind of evenings are a wonderful opportunity to experience something rather different from our everyday outings. They remind us of the old times when the meaning of having a good time was a visit to the theatre, and not to some smoke and booze filled club…

But the most prestigious New Year concert is definitely the one performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra that takes place each year in the morning of New Year’s Day in Vienna, Austria. Ballet dancers, who perform through several compositions during the concert, are dressed by prestigious fashion designers. Hopefully, we will also have an opportunity to be a part of that wonderful concert one day.
