Having a short hair has its benefits. If you are always late and running from one place to another like me, it is really a perfect style – you can wash and dry it in a matter of minutes, without loosing to much of that precious time. Short hair is a blessing during the hot Summer days – in those days I am envied by many of my girl friends. Only time of the year I catch myself missing my long hair is during windy Winter days when I think my poor ears will probably fall off. I love to wear hats, especially beanies and fedoras, but this Winter I fell in love with this beautiful cloche hat by Sisley. Cloche hats first became popular in the 1920s, when they were worn by rebellious flapper girls who wanted to emulate boyish short haired look, but also to be feminine and sophisticated – I hope I also managed to that π !

Diamonds and Backpacks
In today’s post, besides my outfit of course π , I wanna show you my latest little project! I’ve been sewing bags for a full year now, and the new skill I’ve learned was the perfect move for the handbag lover as myself.
I often end up with back pain form wearing my classical, always full, shoulders bags and I found it hard to find that one perfect backpack. Because of that I decided to make it myself! This backpack can be rearranged, and transformed to shoulder bag and messenger bag – who would have thought I would become practical in my 30s π ?!
Diamonds themed dress, big statement necklace, my favorite Catwoman and I’m ready to go !
Happy First Birthday “Miss Dee STyle” Blog :) !
Today “Miss Dee STyle” blog celebrates it’s first birthday! Even writing that sentence makes me feel emotional on so many levels. Having a fashion blog and be able to share my love for everything colorful and unique was an idea for a long period of time, but a year ago I finally decided to give it a try. It started like a very small and humble page with rather modest viewing statistics, but like a small child it started to grow up and have a life of it’s own π
It brought me so many new friends and acquaintances, primarily from Croatia and Bosnia, and later from the rest of the world.
The main goal of “Miss Dee STyle” was to show my love for clothing, fashion and handcrafts. I consider myself a rather geeky woman so behind every post, behind every picture has to be a story, a certain theme, something that inspires me in my everyday life. All of the outfits were inspired by something – movies, books, painters, historical events or persons – I love and admire.
I wanna thank every single one of you for reading these posts, watching these pictures, your comments…they all mean a world to me!
My husband, my family, my friends are such a great inspiration and I wanna thank them for their support π
Last, but most important thank you goes to my friend and photographer Stela who always encourages me and through this time was my biggest supporter! Thank you girlie!
For today’s birthday post I decided to put the pictures of all the looks featured in the blog in it’s first year. Below every picture is a link for the blog post in which that particular look was featured –Β hope you’ll enjoy it!
Kisses from Miss Dee !

Oxford Babe
Last autumn I decided to find the perfect pair of shoes which I could wear in that awkward season period between wearing ballet flats and winter boots. As always, I decided to find them on the site I know the best – never ending wonder of E-bay !
After a long search I fell in love with these wonderful Oxford shoes by Iron Fist. They are very comfortable, easy to combine with all sorts of outfits – and I have to admit – when I wear them I just have an urge to dance in the rain – Fred Astaire style π !
Tree of Life
On September 25th I turned the big 30 π ! Prior to my 30th birthday I started to wonder a little bit more than usual about my life choices so far. There were always some bad ones and a lot of good ones, but all of them shaped me in the person I am today. One thing I learned (and even have it as a tattoo on my back!) is to never be afraid of making choices and decisions. “Show yourself, destroy your fears, release your mask!” are powerful verses from the Queen’s song Innuendo, and I try to remember them and incorporate them in my everyday life.
I was so touched with one of my birthday presents – handbag with motif of “Tree of Life” – quite appropriate for my jubilee birthday. Tree of life is a symbol of a connection between ourselves, nature and the whole universe we live in. I cannot wait to see what my very own tree of life is preparing for me in the future π .

Le Petit Prince
I recently revised my book collection and one of the books I own caught my attention – Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) by Antoine de Saint-ExupΓ©ry. I consider this book a must in everyone’s library. As a child I couldn’t quite figure out all the thoughts and metaphors which this wonderful book contains, bit I loved drawings by de Saint-ExupΓ©ry and I often copied them in my notebooks. Today, with a little bit more of life wisdom and experience :), I find new beauty in it’s simple and so truthful words about life, love and human nature.
Years and years will pass, but I believe that “Le Petit Prince” will stand every test of time, and always teach us and remind us of importance to nurture connection with our often forgotten inner child.
Boat named “Skitnica” in Croatian – English translation would be “The Wanderer” – I think it’s quite appropriate for this post π
Green is the Warmest Color
Everyone one of us has a favorite color – that one color which is a little bit above all of the other ones. Although I’m a big colors fanatic π , you could probably guess by now that for me the favorite color is one and only – green. Since I was a little kid I preferred her in my wardrobe – green always had soothing and peaceful influence on me. Green is the color in which I feel most comfortable, and even at my home decorations I always prefer green details.
But on the other side green is a great color if you wanna stand out and run away from your safety zone – perfect color for eternal introvert/extrovert fight inside my head π !
Hope you will enjoy these pictures, taken in beautiful little city Stobrec, located 10 minutes from my hometown Split and check out my all time favorite selection of green dresses, both in popular culture and on the fashion runways. And do tell me something about your color favorites!
Kisses!
Queen of the Jungle
Summer months are just perfect for the one trend which cannot go unnoticed – jungle print. I haven’t worn Desigual for a while π , so it’s time to return to my favorite fashion brand!
I found this beautiful dress at E-bay couple of years ago, again second hand, and it was of course, love at first sight. She just screams summer, jungle and wilderness.
For blog posts I first decide on outfit, and after it, with my biggest helper, photographer Stela, I decide on location.
We wanted to do the jungle themed post, but we couldn’t afford trip to Amazonian rain forest π , so we hope that this jungle voyage with a little bit of help of Photoshop will do the trick π !
Enjoy!
“Let Them Eat Fruit !” – first handbag and jewelry collection by Miss Dee :)
Ten months ago (Is it really just ten months?!), I finally decided to pursue one of my dreams – learn how to sew. Sewing class was my first encounter with the sewing machine, that strange and unusual object which makes wonders π !
Studying medicine consumed so much of my time and energy, but the wish to actually made something for myself in terms of clothing and accessories, and to learn this wonderful new craft was so strong.
This blog was a fantastic adventure for this six months and one of the ways in which I decided to express all the colors and patterns trapped inside my wardrobe and inside my imagination.
I wanna say “Thank you!” to my all my beautiful friends and family who supported me – especially to my husband dearest π !
All the pictures were taken at my parents’ weekend house in village Ogorje, 40 km from Split – they were wonderful hosts for me and my beautiful friend and photographer Miss Stela.
So, that’s enough for the introduction π , I’m proud to show you my first handbag and jewelry collection for the summer, inspired by the fruit, summer and love…
“LET THEM EAT FRUIT !”
The (T)rench Connection
There are clothes …and then there are classics. One of them is definitely trench coat. I think every one of us owns some variation of the trench coat for those rainy SpringΒ or Autumn days. I while ago I got my hands on this wonderful second-hand Burberry trench coat which I consider my prized possession.
One of my favorite movie scenes is the one from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” when Audrey Hepburn (or Holly Golightly) is trying to catch her love interest Paul dressed in her trench coat.
Every time I put my trench coat on I feel like a part of an old school movie, and who doesn’t love to feel like that, if only for a couple of hours?
